Something a little different to my usual web ramblings, I just saw this video of this cool robot running around all over the place, over all sorts of terrain, and even correcting it's balance when booted by one of the researchers!

Ah yes, as I suspected, it's being developed as a robotic pack mule for the US military. You gotta love endless R&D budgets!

They've been talked about for several years, during their 10 years of development by Weapons Manufacturer Raytheon, but finally microwave firing "non-lethal" weapons have been certified as being ready for use in Iraq, and forgoing further testing will likely be deployed shortly.

16 year old, Farris Hassan, from Florida US, decided after attending an immersion journalism highschool class, that it would be a good idea to go to Iraq over Christmas break.

Naturally he didn't mention this to his parents, Iraq born, but who've lived in the US for the last 35 years.
