Xtra Broadband Sucks!

I agree. This IS the worst internet provider ever to exist! I am forced to use Xtra because there isnt any other plans available in my area....xtra is sickening. I feel like blowing up the Telecom building! They're a bunch of rip-offs!!!

Xtra broadband continues to suck... I've shifted house and I'm getting telstra cable back again THANK CHRIST, and will never again use any telecom product or service for the rest of days.

I'm also actively encouraging everyone I know to leave Xtra and Telecom if they have the misfortune to still be using xtra broadband, telecom phone lines, or telecom mobiles... New Zealanders have had enough of being shafted on a daily basis by Telecom and Xtra, and I hope their business suffers as well it should.

In online gaming i will lag at least once a minute and getting internet errors and i cant even refresh all the national servers!!

xtra broadband is so shit, i did a speed test and im getting 67kbps and 57 kbps upload how the fuck am i suppose to do anything?? i mean by the time a video loads on youtube, id be able to fly to london and see it at the dudes house

it took me fucking 10 mins to load this page i can't play any of my net games cause im running at like 3-4k ping avrage is like 50-100

Broadband in New Zealand is changing, but not fast enough! Xtra broadband still continues to promise the World, but offering rubbish connectivity quality and speed.

New Zealand broadband users - you can make your point by switching broadband ISP's. Xtra broadband have failed to provide time and time again, so don't exactly deserve the market share they currently have.

I used to be on Woosh, which i thought was the most unreliable piece of shit ever, than I see adverts of xtra promising "amazingly fast broadband plans". so we change to xtra, and BY THE GODS, ITS WORSE THAN WOOSH, I CANNOT BELIEVE IT LOL... I've complained to xtra multiple times, which they ignore constantly, even getting hung up on once. Im currently changing to orcon because i've just had enough of this garbage, i mean, paying 50$ a month for 56k speed internet(at times slower) is quite pathetic, in my eyes and many friends of mine, the people who made xtra need to take a good look at their product, get their heads out of their arses, and give New Zealanders the ''amazingly fast broadband'' we were promised.

I am recently back from the UK, where customer service is almost non-existent and ISP's get away with hopelessly bad connections. I had heard that NZ was well on the way to improving internet services and that (as a small country) change was able to take place relatively quickly and easily. Sadly, this is not the case. I am currently lumbered with a connection via the Xtra Broadband "service" which has numerous disconnections through the day and then lengthy periods of no service at all. This is a disgrace.

Why is the Commerce Commission not taking any action on the abysmal service which is being sold to consumers at a premium price? Surely Xtra should have to compensate consumers to the tune of their total outages each day!

Realistically Xtra should be forced by the commerce commission to remove any mention of the words "Broadband", "highspeed", "service" etc

Such a relief I'm now on Telstra 4mb cable connection at my new house. 6 months of Xtra "broadband" at my last place just about drove me insane.

Xtra uses absolute slimeball business tactics which rely on customer ignorance of what broadband is supposed to be like, and a marketing machine constantly fooling people into believing that things have changed and they're industry leaders.

Xtra you suck - may all the people responsible for what you're inflicting on your customers be destroyed by your own negative karma :) I hope you're all struck by lightning while getting into your luxury cars which we paid for.

XTRA/Telecom Sucks So Bad, when I 1st signed up for broadband I was getting around 4 mbps, after the "Unleashed" BS, my connection has slowed to dialup speeds if I am lucky.

Most times I can't even load a text web page, because my homepage is the xtra page and the retarded ads they run won't allow the page to load for 10 minutes sometimes. How can I possibly handle having video ads on my home page when I have Telecom Xtra for an ISP, anything more than html will cripple my connection. What a JOKE of an ISP, you people SUCK!! I bet when you get home from a hard days screwing your fellow man, your partners refuse to have sex with you because you are so pathetic.

I swear sometimes my old dial up connection would smoke this crappy broad band, and for this I am paying $50 a month?

I called them so many times to complain but they either say the problem is my equipment or otherwise BS me. As a fix they recommend that I switch to one of their other capped or more expensive plans for improved speed, why would this increase my speed if they just told me that it's my equipment at fault for the slow connection, though nothing has changed since I used to get good speeds on the very same gear.

Also they have that stupid fair use plan, they told me that they would throw me into a managed pool if I used more that 750 mb between the hours of 5pm and midnight I doubt I am able to get that many MBs to transfer in a MONTH! Fukin SlowAss connection you gotta be shittin me.

Telecom Xtra need to punished for lying to the NZ public on a daily basis, they are fraudsters in the worst way and what they are doing is criminal. They need to admit that they screwed us and are continuing to screw us and spend some of that dosh they have been stealing from us on some decent gear so they can deliver the service they promised us and we are paying the bastards for. What a bunch of arse holes!

I cant believe how fucking slow the internet is down here! We had UNLIMITED BROADBAND back home in England and never once had the problems with the internet that we get here, And it's not just us but everyone else we know here! I phoned telecom xtra last week to ask them if there is anything wrong with our internet because its so slow and they said no, they say we've got the fastest internet available!!! Well they can kiss my arse if they think our internet is fast!!! FUCK ME it sometimes takes 15 fucking minutes to flick from one website to another! And when your trying to listen to music or video call you may as well fucking forget it and just send a letter or go up town to buy a cd!!! We had dial up in England 12 fucking years ago which is 20 times faster than our so called super fast broadband!!! Fuck mate, sort it out telecom New Zealand, It is after all 2008 not fuckin 1508!!!!! And why the fuck is unlimited broadband not available in New Zealand???? What the fuck telecom you really are the shit of the shit when it comes to internet provider and service in the world! this is the worst internet ever, i tell you this now who ever wants to get internet do not get xtra make them lose money because they are the worst ever, my maximum is 7kb/s and its meant to be go large not go fuking small fuk xtra and the manager he can go die.

im geting charged 700$$$$$$$ because i changed the plan and my brother downloaed lik 50gb over at 2 cents a mb and they wont let me chage our plan to the 50gb plan fucking cunts i swear some one needs to fuck them over and i cant wait till a beter isp come out and kills xtra

Yeah the new $16.95 mth for broadband sounds pretty good till u ring up and find out this is only a 6 mth offer with normal charges being put back in place 6 mths after u sign up. Oh and although u have 30 days to change ur mind after signing, if u cancel ur contract after that period and be4 one year is up, u will owe Xtra $90.00!! Yep that`s right! So not such a cool offer after all. This reminds me of their Go Large advertising in 2006. The ads on T.V emphasise only the so-called bargain but not the more important details. They`re just sucking in thousands of paying customers again (using new tactics)some of who are not savy enough to ask the right questions from the get go and end up getting ripped off bigtime.This is just typical of Telecom Xtra.Deceptive advertising.

I usualy use TELSTRA CABLE, you can get it in some parts of Christchurch and Wellngton, GOOD value for money ($60 month for 40gb down/up, no phone line needed) ACCEPTABLE download speeds, they claim that plan is 20mbps or something like that, it does the job anyway. and GREAT latency for online gaming, COD4 on an ausie server from chch = 60-80 ping...

Well telcom = 140 - 270 ping OMG losers, they cant even keep the lag STABLE.

So get telstra cable if its available, but if its not bad luck.

yes. Telecom Xtra broadband is crap.
about 1-2 years ago. i paid 28$ a month for dialup. and it was about 10-12 KBPS. now since i have left those thieves i pay a reasonable amount for broadband.
and that dam promotion they had about a month ago made me sick. Broadband for dialup prices (16.95)? sounds good huh? well read the Dam fineprint and it says that the first 6 out of 12 months minimum contract is the dialup fee plus a monthly line usage fee. after those 6 months they could charge you anything. and the monthy Data cap is only 200MB! plus 2Cents per MB after that, so is that 1gig for 20$!!!!! some places dont even work and it costs to set-up. but you can remove the contract within the first month for 90$. thank you verymuch for you money.
so you ring them and you spend about 40mins on hold. shit survice. dam Telecom. shame on you.

Telecom / Xtra are without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. Now that the govt have forced them to unbundle, theres no reason at all to continue to have your phone OR internet with them thankfully.
