Free Podcast Aggregator Software

Free Podcast Aggregator Software

Posted by matt on Tue, 02/01/2007 - 4:46pm in

I tuned in to the world of podcasts a little late as far as aggregators go I'm ashamed to admit.

Sure, I've kept an eye out for new podcasts from certain sites, but haven't until recently begun subscribing to specific podcasts, which is where it's at as far as podcasts go.

For those that don't already know, a podcast aggregator is a piece of software that you place a Podcast RSS URL into, and it downloads the new podcasts when they are made available. Very handy, just as regular RSS feeds are.

Initially I grabbed the program Juice, which is a relatively popular free piece of software, but I found it was having all sorts of issues keeping my podcasts up to date, so I finally got around to looking for a replacement.

I've just installed Doppler, and so far it's doing great. It looks like a keeper.

It's free, very simple to install and setup, and I've quickly added my 3 favorite WebmasterRadio shows to it.

As far as bugginess goes, only time will tell of course, so I'll keep you posted!

How I Found Your Site

Hey Matt,

Nice to meet you. I found your site because of a comment you made on Darren Rowse's site. I am glad that I found your blog and have added your site to my favorites. I am looking forward to reading your previously written articles over the next few days.

Take care,
Garry
